Ugly CD Player is an application that lets you play audio CDs on your Power Macintosh. It is designed to take up only a small amount of screen space, making it easy to tuck into an open area of the screen for convenient access to the playback functions. At this time Ugly CD Player provides only the basic audio CD playback control functions: play, pause, stop, eject, FF, Rewind, next track, and previous track.
In addition, there is a display of the current track and play time. If you click on the track number, a popup menu appears which allows you to quickly skip to any other track on the CD.
If you click on the time, you get a popup menu which allows you to select the time display mode. You can select between Track Count Up (time from the start of the track), Track Count Down (remaining time in the track), Disc Count Up (time from the start of the disc), and Disc Count Down (remaining time in the disc). The current mode is shown in the time display area as a "T+", "T-", "D+", or "D-" respectively.

Registration:
Ugly CD Player is shareware. If you like this product please register by paying the requested US$10 single-user registration fee. You may pay by using the registration application included in the Ugly CD Player package, or by purchasing online via the Buzzard Software web site (http://www.buzzardsoft.com).
To use the registration program provided in the Ugly CD Player package, first find and launch the application called "Register" in the same folder as Ugly CD Player. Enter your name, e-mail address, and the number of licenses you would like to purchase. Once you have filled in all your information, you can then save, copy, or print the data in order to send it to Kagi. Kagi handles my payment processing.
If you are paying via First Virtual or Credit card, you can e-mail or fax your purchase information to Kagi. To e-mail your purchase, send a message to sales@kagi.com containing the data you copied or saved from the Register program. You can also fax the same information (printed to a fax modem, for instance) to Kagi at +1-510-652-6589.

Troubleshooting:
If you run into problems with Ugly CD Player, first close down all open applications, restart your machine, and try again. If that fails, make sure that your CD-ROM drive is working and that it supports audio CD playback.
If Ugly CD Player seems to think that your CD is playing, but there is no sound, go to the "Monitors & Sound" control panel. Then make sure that your speaker volume is turned up. Also make sure that your sound input source is activated and set to the CD-ROM drive (rather than the microphone).
If you are unfamiliar with how to use audio CDs or the "Monitors & Sound" control panel on your Macintosh, refer to the manual(s) that came with your computer.
You may experience audio playback problems with multi-format CDs, that is CDs with not only an audio portion but a data portion as well. At this time, there is no workaround to this problem.
